Thanks to a wonderful photography friend up in the very far north of Scotland who sent me a fabulous selection of gnarly wood blanks and gold leaf, I put the thinking cap on and tried something different – using CA glue as a finish and filling the pores with bits of gold leaf. Absolutely delighted at how these “turned” out !!

Gold leaf was prodded and poked into the pores of the wood after CA glue was added and then the gold covered again with a further coat of CA glue. The wood was then sanded with 240 grit followed by 600 grit. Then 9 coats of CA glue were buffed and then a full set of graded micromesh pads were used (wet sanded) and a final application of T-cut.
Really pleased with this !!!
